A small school for people who write at work
Lyceum started in 2021 as one writing cohort of twelve people in Chicago. It is still small on purpose: four instructors, forty seats a cohort, and an editor on every draft.

The Lyceum was a place to walk and talk in small groups
Aristotle’s school in Athens met in a covered walk. People learned by talking a problem through with a few others and a teacher who pushed back. We took the name because that is still the best way we know to get better at writing.
Videos are good at explaining a rule. They cannot tell you that your second paragraph buries the ask. So every Lyceum course is live, every group is six people, and every draft comes back with line edits.
